| Before and after the 90 second face makeup. You know I'm dedicated to teaching the world about makeup when I put pictures of myself like the one on the left on the internet for all the world to see! |
There probably needs to be a chemical peel in my near future, to be quite honest. But lucky for me, I'm a makeup artist and I know how to cover up all that ugly stuff! AND I know how to do it FAST.
The makeup look in the tutorial below uses only three products (concealer, mineral powder foundation, and bronzer) and took me just over a minute to do. Add mascara and lip gloss and you've got yourself a quick and easy everyday face makeup that only takes about 90 seconds start to finish.
Hope you enjoy! Got questions - ask them in the comments section!

Loved that you addressed the "age-old advice" of ring finger vs index finger... felt like you were talking directly to me!
Erin. I loved watching your tutorial! I am going to try out your concealer trick. I hate spending too much time on makeup and this is perfect for what I need. Glad to see that it's gotten so much love!
It's my general understanding that concealer goes on top of foundation; do you do the reverse because you use powder foundation? I use liquid foundation, followed by concealer and it seems to work well for me. And I completely agree with you, it's my bare minimum no matter what routine too!
Great tutorial Erin! I really hope they sell Too Faced at our BX- I'm going to go check tomorrow. As you know, having a kiddo puts the morning routine into a time crunch situation!
@Blondieesquire - YES, I put my concealer on top of my foundation when I'm using a liquid or cream, but when I'm slapping on some minerals I do the concealer first.
I guess my simple rule would be:
creamy products go straight on skin
powdery products can go either straight on skin OR on top of creamy products
Thanks! That's a really good rule, I never thought about it before but makes sense. Looking forward to reading more tips! :)
Yes and when I think about it, powdery products really should go on top of creamy products whenever possible, so it adhere's better. In other words - use a primer for best results!
So... cream on skin, powder on cream
I like it :)
Erin, thanks so much for this tutorial and the product recommendations! I started using this routine a couple of weeks ago with the products I had, and loved the results. Unfortunately/fortunately, I've been running low on my Sheer Cover concealer and really didn't feel like spending $30 for half a container (since I don't use the darker shade). I bought the Maybelline dark circle eraser today and am completely shocked at how well it works! The color match (fair) is perfect and a total bargain at under $8.
Whit older skin. Is it a good idea to use powder. I hear it just goes into wrinkles, and makes you look older. True?
Loved this tutorial! I have been dong this all the time now when I feel a full face of foundation isn't necessary or worth the effort. Thank you!
Hi, I found this post through Pinterest and Love it! I'm not really a makeup wearer, the bare minimum is all I want and this is great. Thanks!
Hello! I just watched your tutorial and loved it!! I will have to get to Ulta for the Two Faced Products:) This routine is something I will be abl e to use once school starts in a week and I am up at 5:30am:( I can add some lipstick/gloss and mascara and be off!!! Thnks a million!
Wow I haven't checked my comments in a long time - I love that this tutorial is still making the rounds on the WWW!
Lois, you are right - for papery wrinkled skin, powder isn't the best idea. You are better off with a cream or liquid foundation.
I've also started adding a little shimmery eye primer (the urban decay eye shadow primer in the gold bottle) to my lids as well to knock out the redness - just a little addition to the routine but it just takes a second!
